Short Vacation to Maine or One Sock + One Sock is Not A Pair
My husband and I left New Jersey Saturday morning. We spent Saturday night in Townshend, Vermont at a State Park Campground. Notice crazy person jumping off bridge. Park Ranger entertaining campers with Angela the Camper.

Campsite and one finished Solstice Slip

On Sunday we went to Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Monday was a misty day. Husband and I drove to Cape Porpoise for lunch at the Chowder House. Lobster Stew and Crab Rolls. Finished one Trekking sock for husband.

On the way back to Sanford we stopped in Kennebunk to buy a new set of locks for my Mothers' house. She had been broken into last Weekend while at Church, which is the real reason for hte trip to Maine. Anyway next to the hardware store is The Custom Shop, a yarn store. They are moving and were in the process of having a Moving Sale. My husband went to the hardware store and of course I went to the yarn store.
Stash Obtained At The Custom ShopAll this for under $40

Tuesday was spent fixing door and window locks and cleaning out my Mothers' attic. Tuesday was also my husband's birthday. We did take a walk on the beach and collect birthday sea glass.

On Wednesday we got up very early and drove to Wells Beach. Parked in free lot and rode our bikes to Ogunquit/Perkins Cove.

Being this is my 50th Birthday we stopped at the Footbridge for a swim. Perkins Cove for a cup of coffeeThen back to Wells Beach - look how many people showed up to help me celebrate my birthday

Hope it was a wonderful birthday! Sending best wishes your way. Sounds like a lovely trip and the best stash finds. You got some really nice yarn.

What a wonderful trip New England! We love coastal ME - walking the Marginal Way in Ogunquit - the water is quite chilly at Wells, but my kids go in all the way - I stick my toes in!
Happy Birthday! 50th is a good one (I have you beat by 2 1/2 years!)
